Congregation Adas Emuno has maintained a long tradition of Saturday morning Torah Study sessions, which run from 10 AM to noon. This tradition has expanded into our highly popular Text Study led by Rabbi Barry Schwartz. Come join us for our weekly Saturday morning sessions as we read and discuss the teachings and unfolding story of our people. Our Torah and Test Study sessions are open to all.
In previous years, sessions have been devoted to Torah and the other books of the Jewish Holy Scriptures, the Mishneh Torah of Maimonides, family dynamics in the Torah and Tanach, the history of the Reform movement and Judaism in America, the prophets, turning points in Jewish history, the commentary of Rashi, the rise and fall of ancient Israel, and antisemitism in America.
Saturday morning study sessions are once more being held in person only in the Adas Emuno Social Hall.
This year's theme is Loving Israel, Debating Israel. To love someone you must know them, fully and freely. What can we do here at Adas Emuno to enhance our love of Israel? For one thing we can better educate ourselves about Israel’s remarkable history: from her founding to her future; from her triumphs to her trials; from her dilemmas to her debates. To that end Rabbi Schwartz has decided to devote this entire year of Torah study to: A History of Modern Israel. Every Shabbat morning from 10:00-11:15 AM. Israel is the great story of modern Jewish history. We are so privileged to witness it. Shouldn’t we know it better than we do? You are welcome to any or all of our sessions.
