Dear Friends,
As we begin the Book of Exodus in the weekly Torah portion, I'll read from the opening lines, at our Shabbat Evening Service (7:30 PM). If you want to find the origins of antisemitism, look no further than Pharaoh's words about our ancestors.

Israel's Sinai Campaign of 1956 is often called the forgotten war, but it changed the Middle East, which we'll examine at our Shabbat Morning Torah Study (10:00 AM).

The second meeting of our new Adas Emuno Travel Club takes place on Sunday (10:30 AM with bagels). Esther Gandica will talk about growing up in Salonika in a Sephardic family, and how her parents survived the German occupation by hiding in Athens. The Confirmation Class will join us for this fascinating glimpse into Greek-Jewish life.

And speaking of the exotic Sephardic diaspora, our Adas Emuno Book Club  will meet via zoom on Monday (7:30 PM) to discuss The Last Kings of Shanghai, about two fabulously rich Sephardic dynasties, originally from Iraq, that helped build China into the modern economic powerhouse that it is today.

Shabbat shalom,
