Congregation Adas Emuno provides religious education for children through Confirmation. We welcome your children to join us regardless of age or previous Jewish education! It’s never too late to begin the journey.
The Religious School, for Kindergarten through 7th grade, aims to instill a love of Jewish learning in a small-group setting, taught by experienced and enthusiastic teachers. Each Sunday morning the entire school gathers together for a lively musical prayer service led by the Rabbi and Cantor, followed by classroom learning. The curriculum includes Hebrew for all grades, and a Judaics program that encompasses learning about traditions and holidays, prayers and ethics, Bible and Jewish history. The year is highlighted by school-wide creative holiday programming.
Parent involvement is an important aspect of our school. For more details including curriculum, please contact Cantor and Educator Sandy Horowitz.
B’nei Mitzvah: preparation for becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah is led by the clergy of Adas Emuno. The Rabbi works with students to explore the meaning of their Torah portion, and helps them to prepare their devar Torah (speech). The Cantor tutors each student on a weekly basis as they learn to chant from the Torah and Haftarah and help to lead the Shabbat morning service. Each student plans and implements a “Mitzvah project”, using their particular interests for the sake of helping others.
Confirmation: this program is for students in 8th through 10th grade, and meets twice a month for a program of study with the Rabbi. High school students are also encouraged to help out as madrichim (teachers helpers) in the Religious School.
