Havdallah Talk is a Saturday evening program sponsored by the Adult Education Committee of our Congregation. Beginning with a beautiful and brief Havdallah ceremony that marks the end of the Sabbath, the Havdallah Talks have featured Jewish authors, including Meir Ribalow, Paul Levinson, Marleen Barr, and Leslie Carroll, and presentations on topics of interest to the Jewish community.
The evening includes a lively Q&A session with the audience. Light refreshments are served and there is no admission charge. "Havdallah Talk" is open to the community.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE AN AMERCIAN JEW TODAY?
Please join us on Saturday, September 24 beginning at 7:30 p.m. for a special “Havdallah Talk” and Selichot Program, as we ponder the question: What Does it mean to be an American Jew Today? with Rabbi Barry Schwartz and Dr. Lance Strate. The program will include a screening of the award-winning short film, The Tribe, followed by a discussion on what it means to be Jewish in America today, especially for the generation that followed the baby boomers. Light refreshments will be served. Open to the community. Free of charge.
